Welcome to the University of Regina Academic Assistants Union.
The purpose of this Local shall be to contribute to building a better world. This shall involve a commitment to protecting, maintaining and advancing the collective interests and economic and social welfare of its members and of all working people in general, and shall include advocating to maintain excellent working conditions, security of employment, and fair and equitable compensation for work performed.
This Local shall make every effort possible to defend and expand the human rights to education and public services, including post-secondary education. These efforts shall include organizing workers to extend the union advantage to more working people, advocating for more accessible and affordable post-secondary education, working to strengthen the labour movement, and contributing to community organizations and causes which promote equality, freedom, peace and/or dignity of working people.
